Two notorious mobile phone snatchers have allegedly been attacked and killed by an angry mob in Huruma, Nairobi county.

According to eyewitnesses, the duo was fleeing on a motorbike after they snatched a woman's phone when they were cornered and attacked.

While confirming the incident, Starehe OCPD Julius Kiragu said the owner of the phone raised an alarm after losing her gadget.

"The two were on a motorbike when they snatched the woman's mobile phone forcing her to raise an alarm with the members of the public responding swiftly. The two were caught and subjected to mob justice," Kiragu said.

Kiragu further revealed that during the festive season criminal activities are normally high and that this was the first case to be reported in the season.

"During these festive seasons, such incidences are normally high though they've been so rare, given this is the first case to be reported," Kiragu said.

He urged members of the public to be keen and report suspicious incidences in the area to relevant authorities.

Kiragu further urged the youth to work hard and desist from engaging in criminal activities as a source of livelihood.
