Government declares 27th December public holiday

The Government has on Friday, December 24, 2021, declared Monday the 27th of December a public holiday.

In a press release sent to newsrooms, the State stated that the 27th of December will be a public holiday, by dint of Boxing Day falling on Sunday 26th December.

"This day which is globally celebrated by exchange of gifts and engagement in sports offers another opportunity for Kenya to uphold its heritage of generosity and cultural diversity. All citizens are encouraged to recognize and celebrate the day in a manner that promotes family values and social cohesion," the press release undersigned against the name of Interior CS Fred Matiang'i read in part.
