A middle-aged woman from Nairobi on Friday, August 16, threatened to commit suicide over allegations that her husband was cheating on her.

The woman went to her husband’s workplace at Nyambene House on Tom Mboya Street at 4pm, where she got out of one of the rooms through the window and threatened to plunge to her death.

Several passersby pleaded with her not to make good on her threat.

“It seems fear engulfed her. After close to 15 minutes of threatening to jump down the building, she asked the occupants of the room, where she initially was in, to help her get back,” one of the managers at Nyambene House told K24 Digital on Friday.

“The caretaker tells me that at around 5pm, police from Kamukunji post arrived at Nyambene House and arrested the woman,” said the manager.

The informant told us that prior to the incident, the woman complained bitterly that her husband had cheated on her.

“She claimed that she recently fought another woman, whom she found her husband with,” said our source.

Online claims that the woman attempted suicide after her husband ditched her while pregnant are unfounded, said our source.

The woman’s husband owns an office within Nyambene House.
