A middle-aged man is in custody at Maua police station, for allegedly killing his friend, Kenneth Bundi, over a Ksh20 unpaid debt.

The suspect identified as Fred Mugambi,24, alongside an accomplice Murangiri Maore are alleged to have assaulted the deceased last evening at Kambi market in Igembe, Meru County.

According to eyewitnesses, the two had confronted the deceased over Ksh20 advanced to him earlier, to buy a glass of local brew.
