Police have launched a hunt for a group of thieves who raided a three-storey apartment in Mihango, Embakasi East Constituency in Nairobi on Tuesday night and made away with household items worth hundreds of thousands of shillings.

It has been established that five houses out of 15 were broken into, and electronic appliances, including TV sets, music systems, mobile phones, microwave ovens, among other items, stolen.

The occupants, including three police officers, woke up early Wednesday and found their doors open, with their household items missing.

“We suspect that the thieves drugged us before embarking on a stealing spree,” one of the tenants told K24 Digital.

The Mihango Estate apartment occupants claim that this is the second time in one month thieves are breaking into the residential property to steal.

The residents now say they have filed a report at Karagita Police Station, urging the law enforcement officers to increase night patrol at the estate.
