The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has amended the presidential results in Kiambu Town constituency, Kiambu County, after an error was spotted by a journalist.

The electoral body had erroneously tallied 10,000 votes in favour of Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto, whose votes in the constituency were 51,050.

Making the correction IEBC Commissioner Justus Nyangaya said the correct figure is 41,050 and not 51,050.

"In form 34B there was an error, that was corrected in form 34C," he explained.

"In Thindigwa Primary it was captured that 11 voted for Odinga instead of 111. That has been corrected in Form C," the commissioner added.

Raila's votes in Kiambu Town constituency

Ruto's main challenger Raila Odinga of the Azimio One Kenya coalition garnered 14,860 in the constituency with 87,076 registered voters.

Roots party candidates George Wajackoyah and David Mwaure of Agano party got 318 votes each.

The total number of votes cast in the constituency was 56,546. Rejected ballows were 392.

Tallying of the presidential results continues at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi.
