Four people from Nakuru who were suspected to have been infected with coronavirus were discharged Tuesday, March 17, after spending 14 days under mandatory quarantine at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital.

The four had -- two weeks ago -- exhibited symptoms of the dreaded COVID-19, including cough, sneezing and fever.

Nakuru County Director of Health Elizabeth Kiptoo told K24 Digital the four were discharged after coronavirus tests on them returned negative.

Florence Basweti, the officer in charge of public health at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital, told K24 Digital that only one visitor was allowed to access the isolation units per session when the four were under quarantine.

“This is one of the measures we have put in place to minimise chances of infection,” said Basweti.

At least 14 beds at the hospital have been set aside for coronavirus cases.
