A five-seater car on Tuesday afternoon (March 2) caught fire near Safari Park Hotel on the Thika Superhighway while en route to Nairobi central business district.

The cause of the fire, which engulfed the Subaru Impreza, remains unclear. The inferno broke out in the engine compartment.

K24 Digital understands that the driver of the vehicle, who was alone in the car, escaped unharmed.

As of the time of publishing this story, the shell of the vehicle still lay on the road.
