Comedian and content creator Eddie Butita has taken a swipe at musician Bahati for breaking down after being asked to step down in the Mathare constituency parliamentary race.
In a presser, Bahati noted that Jubilee Party, which is a member party of the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance instructed him to step down in favour of incumbent Anthony Oluoch.
The musician broke down while pleading with the party and President Uhuru Kenyatta not to block him from contesting for the seat.
“Let the people of Mathare decide because I have Jubilee's nomination ticket and it is not mine alone, it's for the people of Mathare,” he begged.
Bahati 'stole' Butita's online show
Reacting to the same, Butita mocked the singer for crying over the nomination ticket, further accusing him of stealing his idea for an online show.
The comedian maintained that Bahati deserves no mercy as he and his wife Diana Marua stole his concept for a cooking show.
“At least he now understands the pain of something being stolen from him. It hurts. Now he understands how I felt. It is in the public domain that they stole my show.
"Do not do bad things against others because karma definitely will not let you go scott-free. That is how the world is,” Butita said in an apparent attack on Bahati.
He, however, advised the singer to contest for the seat as an independent candidate if he believes he is the best fit for the position.
"I wish him well let him vie as an independent candidate,” Butita said.
