Anerlisa Muigai reveals she turned down Netflix’ offer to feature on ‘Young, famous and African’

The newest and hottest reality show dubbed ‘Young, famous and African’ whose debut was on March 18 got everyone talking but the main question remains why they did not feature a Kenyan.

Well, Keroche heiress -Anerlisa Muigai is giving fans some insight into behind-the-scenes negotiations for the series which she claims to have turned down.

Anerlisa says she was approached by the Netflix show's producer but apparently, she said no and declined to be featured.

Reacting to the question; “Betty Kyalo, Amber Ray and Eric Omondi say they should have been featured on “Young Famous and African”. Which Kenyan celebrity should represent Kenya  on the next season of Netflix reality show “Young, Famous and African” ?"

She said; “Jokes aside, they sent me an email of if I was interested to be in it but I turned down.”

It wasn’t immediately known why she did not want to feature in the much talked about show because after all, she seems to qualify for all the three requirements.

However, it could be because she doesn’t like the extra attention, or maybe our girl is very booked and busy and not down for any drama that comes with reality shows.

What you need to know about ‘Young, famous and African’ reality series

The series assembles a cast of some of the most talked-about men and women from Africa.

It follows eight African cast labelled “young and famous” due to their social media following and intense media coverage.

Their stories intertwine as they strive to show off colourful and tumultuous pasts and present lives and cultivate new experiences.

They lean on each other for support, while embracing new horizons in romance, work, and relationships in South Africa’s ‘city of gold’ Joburg.

According to Netflix, “This reality series follows a crew of famed, affluent stars as they work and play, flirt and feud in Johannesburg, South Africa. Starring: Khanyi Mbau, Diamond Platnumz, Naked DJ among others.”

The show features:

South African actress, TV host and singer Khanyi Mbau. She is also the sister of famous SA celebrity Lasizwe Dambuza.

Diamond Platnumz and his baby mama Zari the Boss Lady.

South African mix master Quinton Masina who is popularly known as Naked DJ, Nigerian fashion designer Jeremiah Ogbodo, who is popularly known as Swanky Jerry.

South African millionaire and TV personality Andile Ncube, South Africa-born, Zimbabwean rapper Nadia Nakai and Nigerian model, actress and presenter Annie Macaulay-Idibia.
