Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan while wishing her husband Shakib a happy Father's Day expressed her desire to have a baby with him while also recognising his child from a past relationship.
The 42-year-old via her Insta stories penned a sweet message to the father of one.
"Happy Father's Day my 🫅 Father of 1, hope we make it 2 inshallah 🙏🏾,"
Diamond's co-parent and her Boyfriend Shakib Cham Lutaaya held a private-low key Islamic wedding known as a Nikkah ceremony in April 2022.
The wedding, which was a surprise to many, is said to have taken place in South Africa with only a handful of people invited for the nuptials.
In a video shared online, family and friends looked on as Shakib placed a ring on Zari's finger.
The lad placed a ring on Zari's left hand while kneeling before the socialite. They were both wearing traditional regalia.
Zari in a past interview revealed that her marriage to Shakib was her first legal marriage as the late Ivan Ssemwanga and Diamond Platnumz never officially married her after introducing her to their families.
The wedding came after Zari in December last year disclosed that she visited Shakib's parents.
Zari's critics
The socialite and Shakib's age difference attracted a lot of social media critics with many judging Zari for going for a Ben 10.
"Shakib is not a child. He is old enough to have an affair with me. I am 42 years and he is 30, what's the problem with that?" Zari said in a past interview.
"I have seen men who go into marriage with underage women and they are left to move freely, so get a life. I am not committing any crime," she added.
The mother of five has proven the social media trolls wrong as their relationship has flourished. The two keep serving couple's goals on social media.
Bride price
Zari Hassan disclosed that her husband only gave her a Quran as her bride's price during their wedding.
Speaking with Tanzanian media, Zari mentioned that she has had almost everything she wanted in life, and that is why she went for a Quran.
She also stated that she was trying to build her Faith as a Muslim and that’s why she only asked for the holy book as her bride price.
“I have had everything I have ever wanted in this world God has blessed me I have a beautiful life, my kids are okay and my business is thriving and I get gigs here and there.
I’m blessed enough… so for me I only have my husband for a Quaran because I’m trying to up my faith game, I’m a Muslim to sometimes, he was even surprised when I told him that.
“So he bought me one, so that it, only a Quran,” Zari Hassan said.
Somebody's husband?
Last year, a woman identified as Shamirah Nalule Sembatya alias Mimi, a Ugandan lady based in the US, accused Zari of eloping with her 'husband' Shakib.
While placing a document supporting her claim, Mimi said she has been legally married to Shakib since June 2016 and that they had not divorced.
Mimi further claimed that after they got married she processed Shakib’s visa and flew him to the US a year later in 2017.
Shakib reportedly started sneaking from his marriage to be with Zari in early 2022, before fully relocating to South Africa to be with the mother of five.
