South African-based Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has disclosed that she only received a Quran for her bride price.

Zari says she only asked for the Muslim Holy book from her husband Shakib during their surprise wedding since she can afford to buy almost everything she wanted in life.

The mother of five explains that the gift was significant to her since at the time, she was building her Islamic faith.

“I have had everything I have ever wanted in this world God has blessed me I have a beautiful life, my kids are okay and my business is thriving and I get gigs here and there," she noted.

Adding;

"I’m blessed enough… so for me I only asked my husband for a Quran because I’m trying to up my faith game, I’m a Muslim too sometimes. He was even surprised when I told him that. So he bought me one, so that it, only a Quran."

Zari Hassan, 42, wedded her young sweetheart Shakib Cham Lutaaya, 32, in a low-key very simple Muslim wedding that was held in a house on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Videos on social media showed Zari and Shakib exchanging vows while kneeling on the floor as they were surrounded by only a handful of people.

"Happy is the man who finds a true friend. Congrats the Lutaayas," Shakib captioned one of the pics.

The couple dressed in Islamic wedding attire with Zari’s elder brother and sister among those present.

In a previous interview, Zari admitted that she dated Shakib way back before they went their separate ways only to reunite in 2022.

"I dated Shakib way back and then we went separate ways. I don't know how we found each other again. And then coming back together one year later and it's like 'you know what? I am gonna make you my wife'. That's it. We didn't talk for a while then all of a sudden we come back together a year after getting back together and we get married. If it's not God, I mean what do you call that?" Zari Hassan said.
