The Kenya Meteorological Department has announced that the ongoing rains will continue in select parts of the country.

In a forecast, the weatherman said the rains are expected to continue over the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria and the Rift Valley.

"Rainfall is expected to continue over the highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley. Isolated heavy rainfall events may occur over some parts of these regions,” the met department said.

The weatherman, however, stated that parts of the Coast, Northeastern and Northwestern Kenya Kenya will experience high average daytime with maximum temperatures of more than 30 degrees.

At the same time, the met department said the average nighttime temperatures will be as low as 10 degrees celcius in some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley.

Earlier, the weatherman had stated that most parts of the country would be experiencing sunny intervals.

In a statement shared on Saturday, the weatherman said there will be a significant reduction in rainfall across different regions.

However, areas within the Western, Rift Valley, Central Kenya and the Lake Victoria Basin regions will experience occasional rainfall.

"Sunny intervals are expected across most parts of the country, with a significant reduction in rainfall likely across various regions. However, occasional rainfall is also expected, particularly in Western, Rift Valley, Central Kenya, and the Lake Victoria Basin 🌦️ #WeatherUpdate," the statement reads in parts.
