Two people suspected of human trafficking were on Monday, July 26 arrested in Dadaab, Garissa County.

According to a police report accessed by K24 Digital, police officers from Alango Police Patrol Base intercepted a vehicle with two adults and five minors aged between seven and 2 years.

The five included Nasra Ahmed Mohamed, aged 7, Asid Abdikarim, 6, Anisa Abdikarim, 2, Dekow Abdikarim, 3 and a 4-year-old Ayan Abdikarim.

After interrogation, police suspected that the two, Abass Salat Aden who was the driver and Jailan Musa Mbaraka could be involved in a fishy business.

“Upon interrogation, one Jailan Musa Mbaraka failed to give a satisfactory account of the minors, he alleged to be their biological father, after a translator was brought, it was established that the suspect was lying,” a police OB report states.

Police say the five minors were being transported to Mombasa.

The suspects were placed in custody at Dadaab Police Station pending interrogation by a multi-agency team.
