Talk show host Tony Gachoka claims that allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him by a Kenyan Twitter user Sharon Nduta -- whose handle is @ShazieKe -- were sponsored by Deputy President William Ruto’s sympathisers.

Nduta, a social media influencer, had taken to the micro-blogging site on Tuesday morning to allege that Gachoka had attempted to grope her breasts when she and her colleagues -- in late 2019 -- visited the KTN presenter at his house in Nairobi.

“Working with Tony Gachoka is difficult. He is constantly on liquor and excited. [He] has no respect for professionalism and privacy. He tried to grab my boobs at his house in [the] presence of @iamlegitdaily and @_mmjosh. I will expose [Gachoka] soon,” wrote Nduta on Twitter at 8:35am Tuesday, March 10.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, Gachoka said it is true he met Nduta and her two male colleagues some time last year to chart a way forward on how they [Nduta and her colleagues] would help Gachoka push -- on social media -- Pointblank, a political show he hosts on KTN, every Wednesday 9:30pm.

Gachoka said he and Nduta-and-co. did not reach an agreement, and, thereafter, he offered them a lift to Nairobi central business district from Standard Group headquarters on Mombasa Road. Upon reaching the city centre, Gachoka said, he invited Nduta and her colleagues for a drink at his home, an offer they entertained.

It is while at Gachoka’s home that Nduta claims the TV host sexually harassed her. Gachoka, however, denies.

“I am a single man who happily enjoys his life when I am not working, with no apologies. So, honestly, this [Nduta’s] storyline, and saying that I like my drink, doesn’t bother me, [even] one bit. I met bloggers [Nduta and her colleagues] for a meeting [and] nothing else. I have never met them again,” said Gachoka on Twitter.

The Pointblank host, who is a strong DP-Ruto critic, alleges that Nduta’s claims have surfaced on the back of his “very public expose of DP Ruto, who finds a way of declining Pointblank live show”.
