Residents of Kabarnet Town in Baringo County on Saturday morning woke up to a rude shock, when they found the body of a middle-aged woman dumped in the trading centre.

The deceased, who has been identified as a nurse at the Baringo County Referral Hospital and a resident of Talai, was discovered dumped between Treasury and Lelbatai buildings in Kabarnet Town.

One of the residents, who claims to know the woman, said she went missing from home two weeks ago.

None of her neighbours knew her whereabouts until Saturday, when stray dogs milled around her decomposed body, attracting the attention of passersby.

Police say the cause of the woman’s death remains unclear, though investigations into the matter have commenced.

The woman’s body was taken to Baringo County Referral Hospital mortuary.
