The four Chinese nationals who were arrested at Chez Wou restaurant in Kileleshwa following assault claims have been transferred to Gigiri Police Station from Kilimani.

The four Chinese nationals were arrested after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations raided the Chez Wou restaurant in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

The four Chinese nationals are set to be arraigned on Monday for assaulting their Kenyan workers.

Their alleged assault was revealed after a video emerged showing their senior chef, Deng Halian, caning a Kenyan worker, Simon Oseko.

Mr Oseko was being caned for allegedly showing up at work late.

After the K24 TV reporter obtained the video, the culprit allegedly tried to bribe him with Sh20,000 but the newsman stuck to the Code of Conduct for the Practice of Journalism in Kenya which prohibits receiving financial enticements to drop stories.

The video which went viral after publishing has drawn strong statements against the mistreatment of Kenyan workers.
