Geoffrey Omatoke, the Nairobi Nairobi County Chief Health Officer who became the subject of attention over claims that he was stabbed in the butt by his Tinder date has broken silence.

Omatoke trended for the better part of Wednesday night after claims emerged that he was stabbed in the butt for ejaculating during a steamy session with his Tinder date.

According to the claims shared by local blogger Edgar Obare and others, the lady in question stabbed the officer out of frustration that he went against their agreement.

But in a response today, the official watered down the allegations as he furiously confronted one of the bloggers who first shared the news online.

During the confrontation, the official angrily questioned the blogger why he chose to run his name maliciously without proof.

"Sa mbona unanitusi online? Ulfikiria hutashikwa kwani unafikiria Kenya ni ndogo kwako, sasa nani alinidunga matako? Wacha sheria ifatwe hizo vitu unashare…," he asked the blogger.

"It was so unfortunate that as I was busy at work, someone was busy defaming me online. The extortionist has been arrested and is currently being held at the police station. He must face the law so that it doesn’t happen to another innocent Kenyan again. God will serve me, Justice," he said.

After his reaction, a section of bloggers including Obare who first shared the information took to media to apologize to their audience for false reporting.

"Geoffrey Omatoke responds and denies allegations that he was stabbed in the butt, clarifying it was an elaborate extortion scheme by bloggers on Twitter. We apologize for the false reporting 🙏. #omatoke #bnnpremium," a statement shared on Obare's official X handle reads in parts.
