12 people have been killed at Qulbiqallo in Marsabit County during a cattle rustling attack.

This is after armed bandits made their way to Dogoicha and Laaqi villages taking over 1000 cattle prompting the Borana community to retaliate before chaos erupted.

It is reported that the bandits are from the Gabra community.

“The attackers managed to steal 1000 cattle and 300 sheep and goats. After police were notified of the theft, they trailed the tracks of the livestock and managed to catch up with the thieves,” Marsabit Police Commander Robinson Mboloi noted.

In the first attack, eight people lost their lives while four others lost their lives in the second attack.

Mboloi has assured the residents that the bandits shall be arrested as their search intensifies.

“Police are investigating and I can assure everyone that we will arrest all those involved,” Mboloi added.
