Kitale teacher charged with defiling daughter, 16

A primary school teacher has been charged at a Kitale court for commiting incest.

The tutor who works at a primary school in Kitale was charged with being intimate with his 16-year-old daughter.

The teacher, who appeared before Kitale Senior Resident Magistrate Maureen Kesse on Wednesday was also charged with committing an indecent act with his daughter.

 The court heard that on December 5, 2019 at his home at Site and Service Estate in Trans Nzoia County, he had canal knowledge of his daughter.

Further, the court heard that when police went to arrest the accused, he hid in his house's ceiling but was arrested after the daughter revealed his hideout.

Police report said that the accused left Kitale town to hi upcountry home with his wife but sneaked back, leaving his spouse behind.

He was denied bond after he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The magistrate ordered the accused to be remanded at the Kitale Prison until the mention of the case on December 23, 2019.

The case will be heard on January 22, 2020.
