Kisa East MCA, Stephen Maloba is dead.
This was announced by Kakamega county Deputy Governor, Ayub Savula, on Saturday, April 1, 2023, who was speaking in Malava, Kakamega, at Farouk Kibet's thanksgiving ceremony.
According to the DG, the MCA who vied as an independent candidate and won in the August 2022 General Election, was stabbed to death following a confrontation between his camp and that of Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka.
Additionally, Khwisero OCPD Samuel Kogo confirmed the incident but noted authorities will release more information later.
"We would like to stay here longer, but we can't. Apologies for that. An MCA has just passed away in Khwisero Constituency. He was stabbed after a confrontation ensued between two camps, his and that of an MP," Savula claimed.
On his part, Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale added that the MCA was killed due to political indifferences.
"I was in a good mood, but that news ruined it. The young man they killed was in my house for breakfast the other day. He was to vie on UDA, but he joined KANU and won. They have killed him. I am going to console them and not cause more chaos," Khalwale said.
Adding;
"Apologies to my Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, our guest of honour today. Allow us to rush," Khalwale pleaded.
The lawmakers did not explain the cause of their altercation.
