A woman accused of throwing her boyfriend from a storeyed building in Ruaraka, Nairobi on March 15, 2023, will be charged with murder.

The 36-year-old’s charges changed after the said lover Braiton Litoro succumbed to injuries at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

Celestine Adhiambo Oyeko had been charged with attempted murder on Friday, March 31 Makadara law courts and faced accusations of seriously assaulting the man before throwing him down from a building where they lived.

The mother of four is said to have been assaulting the deceased jointly with her new lover who is currently at large.

Oyeko will be arraigned in court on April 5 for murder charges and until then, she remains in police custody.

Before the incident, Oyeko reportedly ended her relationship with the deceased and let him know before changing the padlocks at her house where they cohabited and asked him to cease paying rent for her since she was not interested in living with him any longer.

Later, at 11 pm, she returned to the house with her new lover and found Litoro in a vacant house where they both assaulted him before throwing him down.

His lying body was discovered on the ground by his father who rushed him to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital in Umoja.

He received treatment before being transferred to KNH and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit when he passed away.
