Outgoing Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is being roasted for sharing a fake video of Deputy President William Ruto on Twitter.

Joho faced the wrath of KOT for purporting that the UDA presidential candidate was allegedly preaching divisive politics during a recent campaign trail in Uasin Gishu County.

He shared the video on Tuesday on his official Twitter account castigating the DP accusing him of calling on Uasin Gichu natives to force out non-indigenous residents from the county in case they fail to back his candidature on August 9.

"Completely unacceptable! It is just not right. This is now dangerous…Someone remind Ruto that Kenya is a country for all of us. Live where you want and vote your choice freely. This is exactly why we need Azimio la Umoja," Joho captioned the video.

The video has, however, been confirmed to be edited to alter Ruto's words. In the original clip, DP Ruto asked Uasin Gishu residents not to be divided to allow politics to divide them into tribal lines.

"The people of Western Kenya, Nyanza, Central and other parts of the country who are here all belong to Uasin Gushu and their home is Uasin Gishu. This county is the home of every Kenyan and we want to tell those who want to divide us, shame on you na tutawashataki kwa Mungu mkituletea kisirani yenu," Ruto said in the original video.

Joho's sentiments saw Kenyans on Twitter slam him for his actions.

The video has sparked all of the necessary discussion and plenty of hilarious replies with most KOT not biting their tongues while slamming Joho.

The internet also sees what he’s doing as hypocritical for using malice to counter their opponent.
