Ayub Kinyanjui, the father to the 7-year-old boy who was filmed driving a Prado Tx on Saturday, June 12, has come out to express his shock at the incident and explained more about his son.

He explains his son accompanied him to the carwash at Delview Annex as usual. He then left for a nearby supermarket to get some snacks, but on return, he found his son in the company of other people who were interviewing and filming him. Hours later the video was viral.

The incident happened at Delview Annex, Kandara constituency, in Murang'a county.

Ayub told K24 Digital that he has never taught his son how to drive and that the son learnt how to drive by playing racing games.

"The boy loves playing GTA and NFS on the screen. He spends most of his free time playing the games, and he loves winning," the father said.

Ayub says he has been unfairly trolled online and that he defends himself by insisting that parents should always nurture their kids' talents.

"I think what he did is not any different from what others do. We usually see children riding bikes that belong to their parents,"

Ayub says he will try to nurture the son's talent more by taking him to places where he can acquire appropriate skills.

Ayub believes his son might end up being the youngest racer in the country.

" I'll start exposing him to safari rally experience because I'm sure he can make a good driver if well trained by experts," the father said.

Ayub was arrested and charged with the offence of allowing an underaged person without a legal license to drive a vehicle.
