Drunk Nakuru Police officers arrested for flouting COVID-19 rules

Six police officers from Nakuru were on Saturday night arrested past curfew hours at a bar joint.

The six officers were alleged to have been drinking at a bar in Nyamasaria area within Kisumu at 8 pm.

Also arrested were six other members of the public.

The arrested officers included Stanley Kimato, Reuben Ngelech, Vine Okenyo, Angima Harriet and Daniel Maina all from Nyakacho police station and John Ongweno from Central Police Station Nakuru.

"While the following are members of the public who were equally found in the company of the above-named officers; Maureen Adhiambo, Grace Marry Achieng, Eldqueen Wanjala, Juliet Cheruto, Peter Njuguna and Ronald Orengo," the police statement read in part.

The statement further stated that all of them appeared drunk and were taken for custody at Kondele police station where they were booked at 20:45pm.
