It’s only a car! Those were the words of comfort offered to a motorist whose super expensive car was wrecked on a highway.
Worse, the motorist had only enjoyed driving the brand new car for only 20 minutes according to the police report.
Police said that the brand new Lamborghini Huracán, a car whose cheapest models sell from a minimum of over Ksh20 million exclusive of taxes, developed a mechanical failure just a little less than an hour after purchase.
To pile more pain on the car owner, police said that " an innocent motorist" hit the car from behind totally wrecking it on the left rear side.
The unfortunate incident occurred on the M1 Ossset highway in West Yorkshire County in England on June 25.
On their site, the car manufacturer claims that the Lamborghini Huracán embodies authentic design and state-of-the-art mechanical technology, something their client would probably disagree with after his incident.
"The Lamborghini Huracán is the perfect fusion of technology and design. With its crisp, streamlined lines, designed to cut through the air and tame the road, you’ll get a thrill just by looking at it. The only thing better than taking in this beauty from a distance is actually touching it," says the car's manufacturer.
Many of those who commented on the post by the West Yorkshire Police Department wondered who between the manufacturer and the insurer should pick the tab for the expensive repairs or write down.
Of course, many mused at the "innocent motorist" comment by the police on their report.
