Kenya Power announces power interruptions in 8 counties

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in eight counties on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

In a statement shared on Monday night, the utility company announced that the power blackout will be experienced in parts of Nairobi, Nakuru, Migori, Kiiambu and Mombasa counties.

The utility company said the interruptions are part of the network maintenance. The expected interruptions will be witnessed from 9 am to 5 pm.

"The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (12th September 2023). The interruption is part of network maintenance," the statement reads in parts.

In Nairobi, areas that will be affected include, Kangemi, parts of Waiyaki Way, Sodom, Kinda school, Nairobi water, JKUAT, Kabaserian Avenue, Musa Gitau, Quickmart, Shell Petrol station, CAK and adjacent areas.

The power blackout will also be experienced in parts of Kagundo road, Mwiki road, and Njiru sub-county, among other areas in Nairobi.

Areas that will be affected in Nakuru include the whole of White House, Kiratina, Mediheal, Watu wa Hema, Hill Court, Nairobi Women's Hospital, and Hill Top among other areas.

As for Migor county, the power blackout will be witnessed in Nyambarambe, Riosri centre, Nyabigena market, Kodero Bara High School, Riosiiiri W/Pump, Nyabigena secondary school, parts of Tahaka and adjacent areas.

In Kiambu, areas such as Tola, Witethie, TIB, part of Ngoingwa, M-Pesa academy, Ndarugo motel, Muiri, Metro, the whole of Tola and Kiahuria will experience blackout.

Areas that will be affected in Mombasa include, part of Nyali, Bamburi, Hotel Sisters, Bamburi kwa DO Bamburi Special Products, Ksumu Ndogo, Maweni Primary and Shauri Yako.
