Former Citizen TV anchor Kanze Dena has spilt the beans about her personal life after leaving her state job.

Kanze has hinted that she has been enjoying her blissful seclusion from the public eye after being a news anchor for more than 20 years.

In a recent interview, Kanze dismissed speculations of ill health and revealed that she is relishing her time away from the limelight to focus on creating precious memories with her children and husband.

After years of being in the public eye, Kanze Dena has consciously chosen to step away from the demanding world of media and embrace a more private life.

In her own words, she expressed how she is enjoying this period of tranquillity and cherishing the opportunity to spend quality time with her loved ones.

“I have been good, can’t complain retirement is good. I miss myself. I have been in the limelight for close to 20 years....now that I am in retirement, I'm not there anymore, I'm rediscovering myself because in media people expect you to behave in a certain way. Sasa ata nikijipata dubois ni normal,” Kanze said.

As a dedicated mother, Kanze Dena mentioned that she finds herself as a tough mother just like her own mother was. She added that her retirement has allowed her to spend time with her kids and husband bearing in mind she joined the job of a spokesperson and soon became a newlywed.

“I am not in the limelight as much, but I'm enjoying the downtime because I get to live as myself. It has allowed me to grow spiritually, connect with my children and my husband because I was newlywed when I joined the State House. I was a newlywed so this time has allowed me to reinvent and rediscover myself,” Kanze mentioned.

Kanze's marriage

Kanze Dena and her husband Nick Mararo tied the knot in an invite-only ceremony on March 2, 2019, after she landed a state job.

Kanze further disclosed that motherhood has come with its challenges and she has had very low moments ever since her first baby passed on.

“My Mother died when my son was 1 year old. I kept pilling because TV is like acting, you smile for 30 minutes and you seem happy but when you get home these are like shadows, it wasn't until later in life that I realized I had triggers and depression,” Kanze revealed.
