Actress Catherine Kamau alias Kate actress has called out people taking ill of her trip to the US.
The award-winning actress, who is currently on a US tour alongside President William Ruto and other creatives, says that her trip is fully self-sponsored.
"Before you ignorantly come to comment under my recent posts kindly note; my invitation was courtesy of the @usembassasynairobi (and) this trip is fully self-sponsored just in case you thought my brand is beans. Breathe beloved, I am just getting started," she wrote.

On Monday, May 20, 2024, the delighted actress took to her official social media account to reveal her invitation to attend the State dinner at the White House and Luncheon at the famous Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.
”Good morning, this village girl will be attending the State dinner at the White House and a Luncheon at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta by invitation from her Excellency Ambassador Meg Whitman. @usembassynairobi your efforts and commitment towards the growth of the Kenya creative economy are greatly appreciated,” she wrote.
During her US tour, the mother of two visited the largest production studio in Atlanta Georgia Tyler Perry for a luncheon.
“Big Girl, Big God, Big Dreams 🇰🇪, Tyler Perry Studios Luncheon,” she updated her fans.
Apart from Kate actress content creator-cum comedian Eddie Butita is also in the US after he accompanied President William Ruto on his three-day US state visit.

Advising the upcoming creatives, Kate Actress disclosed that she settled on her handle name because for the longest time, acting was not considered a career in the country, adding that the narrative has now changed.
"How (did )I settle on ‘Kate the actress’ as my handle ?? Well, for the longest time, acting was considered a co-curricular activity or a hobby not a career here in Kenya. ‘ What else do you do apart from Acting ?’ (The most irritating & discouraging question to ever ask an actor ) . Fortunately, the narrative has now changed, and I am honoured to have been part of this tremendous progress in our industry.
