Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has joined netizens in mourning Kenyan climber Cheruiyot Kirui.
Cheruiyot Kirui died in the Everest mountain, Nepal where he attempted to reach the summit without supplementary oxygen.
Brave climber
Amisi described Kirui as a brave and inspiring climber.
The lawmaker further wished that Kirui's adventurous spirit and remarkable achievements live to be remembered and honoured.
"We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Cheruiyot Kirui, a brave and inspiring climber. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and the entire climbing community. May his adventurous spirit and remarkable achievements be remembered and honoured. Rest in peace, Cheruiyot," Amisi posted.

Cheruiyot Kirui's body was found on the morning of Thursday, May 23, 2024, as per the official statements from Nepal.
Cheruiyot Kirui missing
He had been reported missing on Mt Everest after last being seen near the summit’s Bishop Rock known for its treacherous conditions.
The expedition team said they ought to have submitted on Tuesday, May 21, but were last heard from on Wednesday.
However, Cheruiyot Kirui is not the only victim.
A Romanian climber, Gabriel Viorel Tabara (48), was found dead in his tent near camp 3 (7,470m), just before attempting the summit of Lhotse to the north of Everest without supplemental oxygen.
It was reported that he completed acclimatization and several rotations in preparation for the summit push.
Mt Everest's Summit (29,029 ft) is the highest point on Earth, located in the “Death Zone,” where oxygen levels are critically low. It includes the Hillary Step, a nearly vertical rock face climbed with fixed ropes, known for being a bottleneck due to its one-climber-at-a-time capacity.
Camp IV (26,085 ft) is the first camp within the Death Zone where climbers can no longer acclimatize due to the extreme altitude.
Camp III (23,625 ft), is a steep and icy section known as the 'Lhotse Face' that climbers must navigate on their way to the summit.
Cheruiyot Kirui was a banker working for KCB at the time of his demise.
Several other netizens have flocked to social media condolences to express their heartfelt condolences, making him trend for the better part of the day.
