Father-of-5 hangs self in his workshop

A 48-year-old man from Sichei area in Kabuchai Constituency, Bungoma County on Friday committed suicide over suspected depression.

The body of Eliud Wangwa, a carpenter, was found hanging from a rope tied to the roof of his workshop in Sichei Market.

Wangwa, a father of five, was reportedly suffering from depression due to hard economic times.

The deceased’s widow, Matilda Nakhungu, said their children, who were returning home from school, discovered Wangwa’s body in his workshop at 4pm Friday.

Matilda said her husband, who left home early Thursday, had, throughout the week, complained of a persistence headache.

Wangwa’s body was taken to Bungoma County Referral Hospital morgue.
