Saturday power outage to affect 6 counties – Kenya Power

Kenya Power issued a notice informing Kenyans of power interruptions in select parts of the country on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

The utility firm noted that Wednesday's power interruptions will affect Nairobi, Machakos, Siaya, Vihiga, Kisumu, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Kiambu, Nakuru and Kajiado counties.

Kenya Power said parts of Nairobi County will be in blackout for eight long hours, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The major areas affected are Huruma, Mbagathi Road and Romarock.

Parts of Huruma to be affected include; Parts of Juja Road, Moi Forces Academy, Hurama Flats, Niss Petrol Station, Part of Mathare North Road, Matemate Road, Mundika Hospital, Mbuthia, Huruma Ngei 2, Casanova and adjacent customers.

Parts of Mbagathi Road to be affected include; Sunshine Secondary School, AMREF, Nairobi West Prisons, Telkom, Wilson Airport, Riara University, Canaan Estate, KMTC, Part of KNH, KNH Staff Quarters, Kenyatta Market, Magiwa Estate Highview Estate, Mbagathi Hospital, Defense Forces Hospital, Umash Funeral Home, KEMRI, Shadrack Kimalel Primary, Nyayo Highrise, Parts of Ngumo, Parts of Langata Road and adjacent customers.

Parts of Komarock to be affected include; Komarock Phase 1, Komarock East, Kayole Spring Valley, Kayole Junction, Kayole Total Petrol Station and adjacent customers.

Kenya Powers said parts of Machakos County, more specifically areas surrounding Mombasa Road, will be in blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Saj Ceramics, Oriental Godowns and adjacent customers.

Parts of Siaya County will not have electricity supply from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Boro Market, Hawinga, Sidundo, Uasi, Nyalaji, Nyachinya, Mbaga Girls, Nyakado, Rasugu, Kochieng and adjacent customers.

Parts of Vihiga County will be in blackout from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Cheptulu Market, Musasa Market, Shaviringa, Mahudu, Musunji, Shiru Health Center, Sigongo, Kaptech, Siekuti, Kamulembe, Makuchi and adjacent customers.

Parts of Kisumu County will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Wildor School, Kalusi Center, Aloo Gumbi School, Nyamoge School, Chiga Market, Rweya, Kasese Centre, Obumba School, Masawa Village and adjacent customers.

Parts of Nyeri County will be in blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Mweiga, Amboni, Endarasha, Kanyagia, Solio Lodge, Charity, Gitegi, Kula Mawe, Embaringo, Mwireri, Bondeni, Sangare, Kabati, Giraffe Ark, Kamatongu, The Ark Hotel, Kimenju Farm and adjacent customers.

Parts of Kirinyaga County, particularly Makutano and Sagana, will be in blackout from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The areas affected include; Tebere Concrete, Isacco Galaxy Kiminji, Wachoro, Makutano Market, CMI, Rukanga AP, Wanjuguma, Rukanga Dispensary,Meved Dairy, Kobil, Shell, Riandira Market, Ngothi, Rapids Camp, Rukanga Safcom Booster, Thanju Primary, Kwa V Market, Jungleman, HCDA Deport Sagana and adjacent customers.

Parts of Kiambu County will experience power outages from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Wataalam, Githunguri Ranch, Whole of Membley Estate, Gitambaya, Nyayo Hostel KU Kiwanja, Low Rates, Githunguri Primary, Membley PCEA, Membley High School, Rorex Full Gospel, Peak Academy and adjacent customers.

Parts of Nakuru County will be in blackout from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The areas affected include; parts of Kampi ya Moto, Phyllis Wambui Memorial, Rafiki Center, Kabarak Moi Primary, East Gate Kabarak and adjacent customers.

Parts of Kajiado County will not have electricity supply from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Naresho Kenchic, Pipeline Road, Techno Steel, Ashanti, Kongoni, Inkiito, Jamii Bora, Kajiado, Musa Primary, PD Dave, Fred's Ranch, Kimalat, KAG, Lucky Base, Sucos, Imara Steel, Isinya Rural, Isinya Feeds, Isinya Town, Ramoda and adjacent customers.
