Detectives at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport have arrested a man who was trying to flee the country to Dubai after allegedly obtaining over Sh10 million fraudulently.

Innocent Sillingi was arrested at the airport as he was preparing to depart to Dubai following a stop order placed by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Thursday, September 24.

“Acting as a director of Project Capital Solutions, Sillingi obtained over Sh10 million by falsely pretending he would arrange for letters of credit, discounting of documents facility for suppliers and credit funding program,” DCI said on its Twitter page.

The suspect had also claimed he would finance the supply of both the project and working capital under certain terms and conditions.

DCI said that Sillingi will be charged in court.
