Storm in team Tangatanga as Gachagua tells off Kuria over Ruto

Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua has told off his Gatundu South counterpart Moses Kuria on recent demands he made to Deputy President William Ruto who is seeking the country’s top seat.

Gachagua who was being interviewed at a local station said that the demands that were made by Kuria were personal and did not in any way reflect the stand of all the leaders from Mount Kenya region.

In his demands, Kuria said that the region will only support Ruto in the upcoming general elections polls if he picks a running mate from Mount Kenya region.

Kuria also said that the region will also be given at least 40 percent of all government positions in order for them to back Ruto.

However, Gachagua said that the community has never held a meeting and came up with such demands.

He dismissed the demands stating that those were personal wishes and that he did not speak on behalf of the people from the region.

“Kuria is a friend of the Deputy President. When coming up with such demands and conditions he could easily go to the DPs office and discuss the matter with him one on one,” Gachagua said.

The MP said that the only interest they had as leaders from the vote rich region was that the DP deals with matters economy.

Gachagua said that the country needed an improvement on matters economy because it has really been affected especially by the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to him, the community wants to work with someone who will ensure money enters the pockets of common mwananchi.

He said that the only person who has shown that he has the interest of common man with him was none other than Ruto.

Gachagua said that the economy was better during former President Mwai Kibaki’s reign and people could afford meals unlike under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
