The university described Raila as a Kenyan politician, presidential aspirant, and businessman who served as the Prime Minister of Kenya from 2008 to 2013.

"He is assumed as the Leader of Opposition in Kenya since 2013. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Langata from 1992 to 2007.

"Raila Odinga served in the Cabinet of Kenya as Minister for Energy from 2001 to 2002, and as the Minister for Roads, Public Works and Housing from 2003 to 2005. Odinga was appointed High Representative for Infrastructure Development at the African Union Commission in 2018," Raila's profile on the university website reads in part.

According to Edu Rank, the University of Leipzig is ranked 62nd in the world, 20th in Europe, and 6th in Germany by aggregated alumni prominence.

He asked those questioning Johnston Sakaja's academic qualifications to first scrutinise Raila's.

“Stop the pretence! Let IEBC perform its mandate. Sakaja will be on the ballot.

“The deep state and system are making calls all over including the Uganda State House wanting to stop Sakaja from being Nairobi Governor.

"I am telling you Jubilee leaders, leave alone Sakaja, he has enough certificates. If there is someone with questionable certificates, it is the Azimio Presidential candidate,” Ruto said.
