A 59-year-old man has killed her 16-year-old daughter in Kitengela - police have confirmed.

The man is said to have been involved in unending domestic wrangles with his wife prompting him to leave the rented family house - according to neighbours.

However, on Sunday evening May 5, 2024, the man reappeared and found his daughter in the house alone.

He pounced on her and stabbed her severally in the chest, back, abdomen and hands before turning the knife on himself, inflicting severe stabs in his abdomen.

Neighbours who responded to the screams, which went silent shortly, found the bodies of the two lying in the bedsitter house.

The house was not closed from the inside. A neighbour said the man looked calm when he showed up at the house.

Detectives from Kitengela arrived at the scene and found a suicide note, two sharp knives, a hammer and a contact person's phone number.

According to the suicide note, the deceased accused the wife of infidelity lamenting that she wasted his time which prompted him to take action that resulted in the tragic losses.

Confirming the incident, Isinya sub-county police commander Patrick Manyasi said investigations into the incident have been launched.

He termed the bizarre incident as unfortunate and called on families to resolve wrangles in an amicable way to avert bloody incidents that led to loss of life.

"It is unfortunate that two lives have been lost. I want to appeal to families to resolve disputes in an amicable way. Ending life in a brutal way as revenge is not a solution," Manyasi said.

The body has since been moved to Shallom Community Hospital awaiting postmortem.
