An Administration Police officer is on the run after shooting her husband twice with an AK-47 rifle at Dago Area in Nyalenda, Kisumu following a domestic quarrel

According to the police report, APC Maureen who is based at Kisumu East Sub County, shot her spouse for not picking her calls and giving their house help Ksh50 for lunch without consulting her.

The husband, a clinical officer at Milimani Hospital in Kisumu, was watching television when the wife returned to their rented house from sentry duty at Kasagam armed with an AK-47.

"She stood at the door while armed with an AK-47 rifle. She told him she is going to kill him and herself then cocked the gun, shot at him twice injuring him on the right side of the head just above the ear," said the report.

Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene only for her to fire at their direction sending them scampering for safety.

"She then disappeared to an unknown place after returning the firearm to her fellow colleague APC Nancy at the office," said the police.

Her husband was then taken to Kisumu County Hospital where he was treated and discharged in fair condition.

The couple has been together for three years and has a boy child.

The scene was visited by OCS Kasagam, DCIO Kisumu East, and processed by crime scene staff.

The incident occurred on Sunday night at about 8 pm.
