The Pharmacy and Poisons Board has postponed its May 2024 professional examinations.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, the board cited unavoidable circumstances as the reason for the rescheduling.

The new dates for the Pre-registration Exams (Stage I & II) and Pre-enrolment Exams (Level I & II) are set for June 17 to June 20, 2024.

Originally, these exams were planned from May 27 to May 31, 2024.

"The Pharmacy and Poisons Board will conduct the above Pre-registration Exams (Stage I & II) and pre-enrolment exams (Level I & II) from 17th to 20th June 2024, and not 27th to 31st May 2024 as communicated earlier. This is due to factors beyond our control," the board stated.

The exams will be administered online at designated examination centres.

"The exams will be administered online, in the respective examination centres, and the PPB online services portal will be open until 31st May 2024," the poisons board added.

The board said the PPB online services portal will remain open until May 31, 2024, for candidates to make necessary arrangements.

Candidates are required to select their preferred examination centre. The exam centres are subject to change, and candidates must regularly check the portal before the exam for any updates.

They are also required to obtain a suitable computer device with internet access, fully charged, and capable of running for at least three hours.

Additionally, there will be mock exams to help candidates familiarize themselves with the PPB online examinations portal. The dates for these mock exams will be announced later, and they will be conducted from home.

The board also advised candidates with disabilities or health issues that may affect their ability to take online exams to notify the board immediately in writing, along with supporting medical evidence.

Candidates are encouraged to stay updated by regularly checking the PPB portal for any further announcements or changes.

"As indicated earlier, candidates are required to: i) Select their preferred examination centre. The exam centres are subject to change and candidates must regularly check the portal before the exam for any changes. ii) Obtain a suitable computer device with internet access, fully charged, and which can store power to run for at least 3 hours. There will be mock exams to test and familiarize with the PPB online examinations portal. The dates for the mock exams will be communicated in due course. The mock exams will be done at home. Candidates with a disability or health issue that may affect their ability to sit for online exams must immediately notify the Board in writing, together with supporting medical evidence," the board stated.
