Kericho: 62-year-old man ki*ls son-in-law over disagreement with wife

Police have launched investigations into the death of a 25-year-old man who died while receiving treatment at Kericho County Referral Hospital after being assaulted by his father-in-law.

The deceased, Godfin Kipkirui Kirwa is reported to have had a domestic disagreement with his wife, resulting in an altercation with his 62-year-old father-in-law which led to his death.

He had sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to Kericho County hospital where he succumbed while being treated.

"Godfin Kipkirui died while receiving treatment at Kericho County Hospital where he had been rushed after sustaining serious head injuries after being beaten by his father-in-law Kiprotich Keter. Kipkirui had domestic issues with his wife," a police report seen by K24 Digital reads.

The body of the deceased was moved to the same hospital’s morgue awaiting an autopsy.

The suspect was arrested and placed in custody and is expected to be arraigned in court.

In a separate incident in Buuri, Isiolo County, police have launched a manhunt for a suspect who hit a middle-aged man with a club on the head before speeding to an unknown destination.

According to a police report, the victim, Simon Lokile, was walking in the Maili Tano area when an unknown person who was riding a motorcycle hit him using a club and sped off.

He was rushed to Isiolo County Referral Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
