IPOA announces over 40 job vacancies

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has announced over 40 senior-level job vacancies.

In an advert shared with the public, IPOA has listed 43 vacancies in different departments such as human resources, finance, legal, inspections, investigations, administration, security, accounting, communications and transport.

"The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is a state Authority created under an Act of Parliament No.35 of 2011. The Authority wishes to recruit results-oriented Kenyan citizens with drive, vision and creativity to fill the following vacant positions," the oversight authority stated.

Interested persons who meet the requirements have been called to submit their application through post office, email or by hand delivery, clearly indicating the position and job reference number, on both the cover letter, envelope and email applications, together with the authority's employment form, a detailed CV, copies of academic certificates, national identity card, names and telephone contacts of three referees.

The applications should reach the authority by Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

About IPOA.

The police watchdog, established in 2011, is tasked with providing civilian oversight over the police work in Kenya.

Under the current legal dispensation, the police oversight authority is tasked with investigating deaths and serious injuries caused by police action and investigating police misconduct.

Other tasks include monitoring, reviewing and auditing investigations and actions by the internal affairs unit of the police, conducting inspections of police premises, monitoring and investigating policing operations and deployment and reviewing the functioning of the internal disciplinary process.
