Kenya Power has announced maintenance of its power systems in parts of the country in a move that has affected purchasing of electricity tokens.

Through its twitter handle, Kenya Power made the Tuesday, August 3 announcement informing Kenyans of a power black-out tomorrow.

"Good evening. The following areas are scheduled for maintenance tomorrow, Wednesday 4th of August 2021," Kenya Power said.

After the announcement by Kenya Power, a section of Kenyans found it difficult to access their electricity tokens through mobile money payment on Tuesday night.

"Transaction failed, M-PESA cannot complete payment of Ksh100.00 to KPLC PREPAID. Organization receiving the payment is unavailable, try again later," a message from Safaricom said.

Here are areas within Nairobi, Bomet, Kisii, Embu, Samburu and Machakos counties that will be affected by tomorrow's power maintenance by Kenya Power.
