Deputy President William Ruto's running mate Rigathi Gachagua has demeaned Raila Odinga's running mate Martha Karua saying she cannot deliver the Mt Kenya votes.

Speaking during a series of rallies at Ong'ata Rongai, Kiserian and Ngong, the Mathira MP sensationally claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta failed to convince Mt Kenya voters to keep off Ruto.

"Rais wetu ambaye tunamuheshimu amejaribu kututoa tuende kwa Azimio tukakataa.  Sasa mzee ya kitendawili ametafuta mama huko Kirinyaga ati Kazi yake ni awatoe kwa Ruto awapeleke kwa kitendawili.

"Sasa huyo mama ametumwa na yeye, ataweza? Mnawezakubali? Mnawezamskiza?" Rigathi asked.

"Raila has looked for a woman from Kirinyaga to help him woo Mt Kenya people. Our president who we respect has tried to rally us to support Azimio but we refused. If we defied the president, is it possible to listen to this woman who will be sent by Raila?" Gachugua posed.

Gachagua further urged residents of Kajiado to support Kenya Kwanza presidential bid.

"Will you support this chicken rearer who is being demeaned and called names?" Gachugua piqued.

He also drummed up support for UDA Kajiado gubernatorial aspirant Katoo Ole Metito rooting for a Kikuyu running mate saying the county is cosmopolitan.

"We have asked Katoo to appoint a Kikuyu running mate to take care of business interest. It is important to make all tribes feel represented," he said.

He was accompanied by a host of Kenya Kwanza allied leaders including Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula, ANC's Musalia Mudavadi, MPs Adan Duale (Garissa), Alice Wahome(Kandara), Kimani Ichung'wa (Kikuyu) and Moses Kuria (Gatundu South).

The deputy president was also present.
