United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua has vowed to recover his frozen money and use it to establish nyama choma and porridge base in his home in Nyeri County.

Speaking in Mathira on Tuesday, Gachagua said nyama choma zone will be for men while women will use the porridge area.

"You know this government froze my account. When we take power, I will take my money back, and I will come and build a home here in Kieni so that you can visit me.

"I will build a nice house and also a nice place where men can grill meat and drink as we talk," he said.

Gachagua added: "For the women, we will have a nice place where they will be coming to visit his wife as they drink porridge while singing and dancing."

Gachagua accounts frozen

The government froze Gachagua's three personal accounts containing Ksh7.5 billion in May 2020 on suspicions of money laundering at Rafiki Microfinance Bank.

His case will come up for hearing in September 2022.
