KeNHA partially opens Mombasa bound lane at Kyumvi – Sultan to ease traffic along Konza area

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced that the Mombasa Bound lane at Kyumvi - Sultan Hamud has been partially opened.

In their update, the authority said the move is meant to ease traffic around Konza area.

KeNHA, however, indicated that motorists should exercise caution while driving through the area since construction works are still ongoing. 

“KeNHA has partially opened Mombasa - Bound lane at Kyumvi - Sultan Hamud to ease traffic around Konza. Traffic flowing over new tamac is good.

“The Authority advises motorists that construction works is still ongoing and appeals for caution while driving at this section,” KeNHA said.

Further, the authority reiterated that all road users must adhere traffic regulations on the ground. 

“Your patience and cooperation is invaluable during this construction.

Earlier, the road authority had cautioned motorists travelling through Konza area to be cautious due to the ongoing construction works causing traffic delays.

"KeNHA advises motorists travelling through the Konza Area to exercise patience and caution due to ongoing construction works causing traffic delays. The Authority understands the inconvenience and assures you that efforts are being made to expedite the process,” KeNHA said on Thursday, April 25, 2024. 

The road agency further assured motorists that the road would have smoother flow of traffic by the weekend. 

"Please drive carefully and follow all traffic regulations. We anticipate smoother traffic flow by the weekend. Thank you for your cooperation," KeNHA said.
