Kasarani sub-county commander (OCPD) Peter Mwanzo has been transferred to Nakuru as County Police Commander replacing Beatrice Kiraguri in new security changes announced by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.

The development comes after a spate of attacks targeted at women by the ‘Confirm’ gang in the Mawanga area of Bahati Constituency area.

Speaking to the public after holding a meeting with other top security officials, including; Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti, GSU Commandant Douglas Kanja, and other top security chiefs, Matiang’i said that he was angered by the news of insecurity in the region.

He announced that there will be patrols by the police to ensure the ‘confirm’ gang, which has been giving people sleepless nights, is wiped out.

“We have made changes in the security management of this city, and from today, we will have police patrols in this region. Let them be warned that we are here to look for them. We have all the resources. We are not going to sleep until we get the last one of them,” Matiang’i said.

The CS has said that the government will employ unprecedented fire and force. Those offering financial support to the gangs have also been warned and told that they will also be treated as Criminals.

Residents have been asked to surrender any information about crime elements to the police.
