In the Senate, he sits with the honourables but off the upper house, Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip leads a very controversial life and K24 Digital can now reveal.

From gun drama with women, fighting in clubs and a scandalous love life, Loitiptip who is serving his first term in parliament has now joined a number of politicians who also have a careless talk.

On Sunday, October 24, the Senator was being pursued by detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after he was involved in a gun drama that left one woman fatally injured.

In a police report seen by this reporter, the Senator was at Kanu Ground in Laikipia County where he allegedly shot one Joy Makena, 32, on her right leg above the ankle after she differed with the politician.

“The victim was rushed to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital in stable condition. The scene was processed and two spent cartridges of 9mm recovered,” the police report read in part.

Police officers also took away the firearm from his security aide Manoah Omale and it will be used as an exhibit in the case.

The Senator is said to have immediately gone into hiding but he later surrendered at the Nanyuki police station where he said that he was acting in self-defence.

Loitiptip when asked what had transpired said that he was attacked at the hotel in Nanyuki and was forced to shoot in the air to scare his attackers away.

“I am currently at the hospital and would make a statement later on what exactly transpired,” the lawmaker said, adding that the attackers were wielding knives.

He was later released on a Ksh500,000 cash bail or an alternative bond of Ksh1 million.

Three days ago, Loitiptip allegedly assaulted a local youth identified as Francis Mugo in Lamu and even threatened to throw him inside the Indian ocean.

Mugo was allegedly injured on the right hand, left eye and hip in the incident that took place at Manda Airport Jetty when Deputy President William Ruto left Lamu for Nairobi.

Early this year, the Senator still hit news headlines after his infamous fallout with longtime lover and former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's daughter Saumu Mbuvi.

Saumu, accused the senator of assault citing it as their big deal breaker.

The mother of two made the revelation on Instagram as she responded to question from her supporters.

She also shared a picture of her injured face, saying that she was almost being killed by the youthful politician.

“These are the things he did to me… he almost killed me. I will forever fight for women to stand for their rights. Never allow a man to be violent to you,” Saumu noted.

Two months after partying ways the dramatic Senator hooked up with Saumu's close friend identified as Bambi but little is known of their relationship.

Early this year in March, an internet user leaked a video of the senator and his girlfriend smoking shisha.

It turned out that the man identified as Jones Ochieng Mbolo was on a mission to allegedly extort money from the senator.

Although he pleaded not guilty, Ochieng was later charged in a Nairobi Court and sentenced to one-year imprisonment.

In 2019, Loitiptip was on the receiving end after he suffered an attack by unknown assailants at a popular club located in Nairobi.

In his statement, the Senator said that he was heading out of the building with Sonko’s daughter when she asked to visit the washrooms.

It was then that a gang, which was armed with blunt objects, allegedly pounced on the senator and clobbered him senseless.

Following the incident, the club's security guard, David Kombo was arraigned in court to answer charges of assault.

He however denied the charges and was freed on a cash bail of Ksh30,000.
