Four gangsters on the run as police gun down notorious criminal in Dandora

Police in Kamukunji Sub- County area of Dandora 41 have made a major breakthrough by gunning down one of the suspected notorious criminals who have been in and out of prisons.

Police who were on patrol were alerted by members of the public that the criminals were in the area with the intention of mugging and robbing residents. Police then moved with speed to tackle the gang of five who tried to fight back. One was shot and arrested while four managed to escape.

The fatally injured criminal had a tattoo drawn on his chest showing a picture of Ceska pistol which police say means he was fully engaged in criminal activities.

According to police, the suspects had just robbed a man identified as James Onyango; phones and an unknown amount of money which police recovered at the scene. Police also recovered a homemade gun that’s which they say is capable of firing, and four rounds of ammunition.

While confirming the incident, OCPD Kamukunji Sub County Adamson Bungei said they are also closely following up on young prisoners who were recently released from prison who formed up a criminal group with a slogan " Hapana tambua polisi "

“On our fight against crime, we managed to challenge some criminals in the area. We were able to neutralize one of them while the other four managed to escape. We are still pursuing those who escaped in a bid to ensure safety in the region,” the OCPD said.

The criminal who was gunned down by police is said to have recently come out of juvenile detention where he spent three years for robbing a matatu only to continue from where he left after coming out of prison two weeks ago.
