Former Youth and Gender Principal Secretary (PS) Lillian Omollo was on Thursday, October 22, awarded Ksh1 by the Employment and Labour Court for unfair dismissal by the Government.

Justice Stephen Radido ruled that Omollo’s removal from the State’s payroll was done without following due process.

“The petitioner was not subjected to due process, nor was she given reasons for the removal from office under the hand of the President. She was ingeniously notified that her tenure had ended because a replacement had been appointed,” the judge said in his ruling.

Radido ruled that due to the fact that Omollo is currently in court over graft-related offences, Ksh1 was sufficient compensation to the ex-PS following her wrongful dismissal from work.

"She (Omollo) was ingeniously notified that her tenure had ended because a replacement had been appointed,” the judge said.

Ex-PS, Omollo, was sacked in July 2018.
