Police have launched investigations into the cause of fire at Lindi Friends Primary School in Kibera on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

The fire destroyed at least 14 classrooms.

“The fire consumed the entire school’s 14 classrooms. The cause of the fire is yet to be established,” a police report stated.

The school has almost 3000 pupils.

Tout at large after killing colleague

Elsewhere in Mlango Kubwa police have launched a manhunt for a Matatu tout who hit his colleague with a stone after a scuffle over passengers.

According to the police, the scuffle was at a bus stage in the area where they were picking passengers to town.

The victim identified as Stephen Mkubwa was rushed to a hospital in Mathare where he succumbed to his injuries.

The bus driver where the assailant works has been interrogated and is helping the police trace him.

The body of the deceased was moved to City Mortuary waiting for an autopsy.

Man arraigned in court for alleged murder

In Mihang’o Kayole, a middle-aged man is expected to be arraigned in court for murder charges.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, Ibrahim Fundi was spotted pushing Onesmus Thiongo aged 40 while he was alighting the vehicle.

He fell and hit a metallic chair before landing on the tarmac road and was rushed to Reale hospital where he succumbed while receiving treatment.

“While Onesmus alighted from the vehicle there was a commotion. They saw him being pushed by the assailant identified as Ibrahim Fundi whereby he fell on a metallic chair before landing on the tarmac road,” the police report read in part.

The body of the deceased was moved to Kenyatta University Funeral home.
