Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary (CS) Alice Wahome has denounced rumours that she is involved in the Karen house scandal involving a CS and a Member of Parliament (MP).

The saga was a hot topic for the better part of Saturday morning after the spouse of a Murang'a MP claimed that a CS had forcefully moved into their property at Amara Ridge.

The spouse only identified as Mary Muriu disclosed that the CS had visited their home and expressed interest in the house valued at Ksh120 million.

However, the CS tabled an offer of Ksh90 million which the two refused. Despite the disagreement, the unnamed CS forcefully occupied the property without agreement.

Muriu claimed that the CS has since frustrated their efforts to access the house and that the Cabinet member has gone to the extent of using officers to chase away anyone who attempted to enter the compound.

"There is no agreement signed whatsoever. No transaction has taken place. This house still belongs to me and my husband. The CS showed interest in the house. She came to our home and tabled an offer of Ksh90 million, and we told her the house goes for Ksh120 million," Muriu stated.

"Thereafter, I travelled to the US for my daughter's graduation and when I came back on Wednesday, I brought my people to clean the house and mow the lawn.. and to my shock, I found the house open," she added.

Despite the identities being concealed, Kenyans on Twitter popularly known as KOT quickly fingered CS Wahome claiming that she was the unnamed CS.

In a rejoinder, Wahome rubbished the claims stressing that she was in fact not looking for a house to live in. The former Kandara MP distanced herself from the allegations and urged KOT to look for someone else to 'accuse'.

"That story of a house in Karen involving a CS, leave me out. I m not the one. Sorry, Kenyans on Twitter. You missed this one. Look for someone else. I m not the one. I m not looking for a house to live in," the vocal CS stated.
